John Cena has been added to the advertised lineup for the Smackdown branded WWE Battleground pay-per-view in Philadelphia on July 23rd. The Wells Fargo Center website posted the following to advertise the appearance:
Wells Fargo Center is excited to announce the addition of “Free Agent” John Cena to WWE Battleground on Sunday, July 23. Now in its fifth year, WWE Battleground has turned into one of WWE’s most exciting events. What will WWE have in store when this year’s SmackDown LIVE-exclusive pay-per-view comes to the City of Brotherly Love?
Cena is now advertised for the following appearances, starting off with his Smackdown return on July 4th in Phoenix:

John Cena joined the pledge to end polio at the Rotary Convention in Atlanta this week.
Donors from all over the globe raised $1.2 billion to rid the world of polio. Cena talked to the convention attendees about how commitment and determination are the keys to ending polio.
He then introduced Microsoft magnate Bill Gates, who discussed how ending polio has been his goal for a decade. The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, along with Rotary International, pledged to donate $450 million over the next three years.
After the event concluded, Cena and Gates chatted with “TODAY” about #EndPolioNow.
John Cena was in the “Ultimate Father’s Day Gift Guide” segment on NBC’s “Today” show earlier this morning. Cena was back on “Today” to promote the second season of FOX’s American Grit, which premieres this Sunday.

Fast Track Events has announced special “Evening with John Cena: The Untold Story, In His Words” events for Australia in early July. The first event will be on Friday, July 7th on the Gold Coast. The second show will take place the next night in Melbourne and then the series will wrap that Sunday night in Sydney. Australian TV host Karl Stefanovic will be hosting the event and there will be a live audience Q&A after.

The newly engaged John Cena and Nikki Bella were front and center at last week’s 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards and social media was abuzz. The Cenation Leader and The Fearless Superstar were as dapper and dazzling as always, brushing shoulders with the likes of “Logan” star Hugh Jackman. Cena presented the Next Generation award with his “The Wall” co-star Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
