After proving themselves the true “It” couple by defeating The Miz & Maryse in an action-packed WrestleMania Mixed Tag Team Match, John Cena & Nikki Bella got engaged on The Grandest Stage of Them All.

In the months preceding The Show of Shows, The A-Lister and his devious spouse made it their mission to paint a picture of Cena and Nikki as nothing more than “fake” and “power-grabbing,” a sentiment they brought to life in a series of scathing mic rants and Total Bellas parodies.

For their part, The Cenation Leader and Fearless Nikki maintained that Miz had stolen everything he was from other, “more talented” competitors, while Maryse had never really done anything at all. As a result, WrestleMania became an opportunity for each couple to show their opponents, the WWE Universe and themselves what they were truly all about. Continue reading Wrestlemania Results

The Miz & Maryse promised the WWE Universe the shocking conclusion to their Total Bellas spoof series on “Miz TV,” and they did just that. The new installment continued to pick on The A-List Couple’s WrestleMania opponents, drawing John Cena & Nikki Bella out to the arena to address the smear campaign.

Cena went off and retorted everything about The A-Lister and his bride’s spoof. He then challenged either Miz or Maryse to get WrestleMania started early, but the two instead opted to walk away and live to fight another day … Sunday, specifically.

The Miz & Maryse chose to have some fun at the expense of John Cena & Nikki Bella, creating “never-before-seen lost” Total Bellas footage (it was really just them in costume). In spite of this, Cena faced off with Fandango, who was accompanied by Tyler Breeze dressed up like Nikki Bella and deeming himself Breezy Bella. This prompted The Cenation Leader to bring out the REAL Nikki Bella to watch his back. Cena dominated Fandango, and when “Breezy Bella” tried to get involved, Fearless Nikki intercepted and took out Breeze as Cena handled Fandango with the Attitude Adjustment for the win.

After the match, the couple celebrated as they head to The Ultimate Thrill Ride with nothing but momentum.

Following their vicious attack on John Cena and Nikki Bella, which consisted of a physical assault on SmackDown LIVE and a verbal tongue-lashing on WWE Talking Smack last week, The Miz and Maryse doubled down on the verbal portion on this very special edition of “Miz TV.” Maryse suggested that Nikki coerced her out of the first season of Total Divas, but Cena and Nikki soon crashed the party as Miz & Maryse got out of dodge.

Fearless Nikki took the microphone to retort with a fiery message, suggesting that she and Maryse throw down in a match right now. Miz declined the match for his wife, stating that she has nothing to prove. However, a quite irritated-with-Miz Daniel Bryan emerged to make an even bigger match — John Cena & Nikki Bella vs. The Miz & Maryse at WrestleMania! Cena & Nikki look thrilled; Miz & Maryse … not so much.

In their first match together as a tag team, John Cena & Nikki Bella made quick work of James Ellsworth and his “friend who is a girl” Carmella defeating them with some impressive and synchronized tandem offense.

However, the Total Bellas stars would not have long to celebrate, as The Miz & Maryse left the SmackDown LIVE announce table to blindside the victorious couple. After brutalizing The Cenation Leader & Fearless Nikki, The A-Lister and his bride yet again tore down Cena and Nikki’s character and then shared a celebratory kiss in the ring.

Matters on “Miz TV” get explosive between John Cena, The Miz, Maryse and Nikki Bella

ST. PAUL, Minn. — Following the contentious events of last week’s SmackDown LIVE, John Cena journeyed to “Miz TV.”

Cena arrived, however The Miz immediately cut The Cenation Leader’s microphone and The A-Lister proceeded to go on a verbal tirade against the 16-time World Champion. When Miz finally granted Cena access to the mic, he responded with an impassioned speech on Miz’s character.

The situation intensified when a disgusted Maryse slapped John. However, the slaps would soon cease when an incensed Nikki Bella ran out to equal the odds. Miz & Maryse hightailed it out, putting a cap on the drama … for now.

With it all on the line, 10 Superstars battle (royaled) it out with the top prize of moving on to WrestleMania 33 to challenge Bray Wyatt for the WWE Championship.

In the height of the action, it ultimately came down to AJ Styles and Luke Harper, each with visions of WrestleMania glory sprinting through his mind. However, the verdict would be delayed just a bit longer when, in an incredibly controversial moment, Harper and Styles both ultimately toppled to the floor with both of their feet apparently hitting the floor at the same time.

SmackDown LIVE General Manager Daniel Bryan rushed out to conference with the officials at ringside. He ultimately declared the match a draw but said that they would find a definitive Number One Contender for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania next week.

Elimination Chamber Results

Bray Wyatt stunned the WWE Universe at Elimination Chamber 2017, decimating the competition inside the unforgiving structure to capture the WWE Championship and set up a possible Wyatt Family showdown for the title at WrestleMania with Randy Orton.

The punishing battle inside the all-new Elimination Chamber began with a Royal Rumble rematch of sorts, as AJ Styles squared off with reigning champion John Cena. The 16-time champion had a slight advantage over The Phenomenal One, having fought inside the brutal structure before. However, Styles showed no fear inside the Chamber, going right after The Champ.

Cena had the upper hand as the first five-minute period expired and the first randomly selected pod was opened, sending Dean Ambrose into the fracas. The Lunatic Fringe wasted no time in using the Chamber to his advantage, slamming Styles into the unforgiving floor, then scaling the pod he escaped from, only to dive off and come crashing down onto the WWE Champion.

The New Face of Fear was next to enter the chaotic Chamber, and he unleashed his brand of carnage immediately, hurling Styles into the cold steel chains that make up the structure. The Phenomenal One recovered and scaled the chains alongside Cena, eventually sending Cena careening to the Chamber floor. Styles’ high-altitude warfare continued atop one of the pods, where Ambrose introduced him face-first to the Lexan glass.

Corbin, as the fifth competitor summoned into the battle, went right after Ambrose, planting the Intercontinental Champion into the canvas with the Deep Six. He then slammed Wyatt into The Miz’s pod and brazenly told The Eater of Worlds “I don’t fear you.”. Fear of the Chamber was also not a factor for Corbin, who connected with End of Days on Cena and hurled Ambrose into the chains.

The Lone Wolf stood standing among the carnage, staring down a visibly unnerved Miz as The A-Lister’s pod slid open. Unfortunately, the young Superstar took his eyes off Ambrose, who rolled Corbin up to send him packing. That did not sit well with Corbin, who brutally tossed Ambrose through the Lexan glass and planted him into the mat with End of Days. The Miz quickly seized the opportunity, finally scrambling out of his pod to pin The Lunatic Fringe and whittle the field down to four.

John Cena kicked off SmackDown LIVE as a conquering hero returning from battle, and for very good reason. On Sunday, the “Never Give Up” Superstar overcame AJ Styles in an epic contest to become a 16-time World Champion – tying a record set by WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair.

While Cena was more than ready to get to business and discuss defending his crown against five opponents inside the Elimination Chamber in two weeks, he could not even complete a full thought before 2017 Royal Rumble winner Randy Orton and one of The Champ’s Elimination Chamber Match challengers, Bray Wyatt, interrupted.

The Eater of Worlds waxed poetic about how one way or another the WWE Championship would soon be the property of The Wyatt Family. The two then attempted to lambast Cena, however, Cena would soon have backup in the way of the exiled Luke Harper, who joined The Champ in combatting Orton & Wyatt. Because of the chaos, SmackDown LIVE Commissioner Shane McMahon arrived on the scene to say that the two pairs would square off in a tag team match … next!

These two pairs squared off following SmackDown LIVE Commisioner Shane McMahon’s announcement.

In an interesting wrinkle, while Luke Harper seemed fully dedicated to assisting John Cena counteract The Viper, he still seemed hesitant to engage with The New Face of Fear. This would ultimately cost The Champ. For in the height of the action, as it appeared Harper might finally strike his former leader, bedlam ensued and allowed for Orton to hit the RKO on Cena and pick up a huge victory over the man he could potentially face at WrestleMania.

Royal Rumble Results & Video

(Photos coming tomorrow)

It’s official! At Royal Rumble 2017, John Cena did the impossible: He tied Ric Flair’s hallowed record of 16 World Title wins after defeating AJ Styles in an emotional match witnessed by 52,020 frenzied fans inside the Alamodome.

For years, it seemed inconceivable that any Superstar could approach Flair’s record, let alone match it. Year after year, however, The Champ continued his hard work and determination, relentless in his drive to elevate himself. And though he captured the United States Championship just 14 months ago, he hadn’t won a World Title since June 29, 2014. That perseverance, however, would pay hefty dividends at Royal Rumble in his pursuit of the WWE Championship.

The record-breaking victory was far from guaranteed. After all, Styles, who debuted at Royal Rumble 2016, has enjoyed what has been, arguably, the most impressive rookie year in WWE history. Not only did he defeat Cena at SummerSlam, he also captured the WWE Championship a month later at Backlash. And one month after that, The Phenomenal One successfully defended his title against Cena and Dean Ambrose in a Triple Threat Match at WWE No Mercy.

Styles wanted desperately to keep that momentum racing into his Royal Rumble bout. Early in the historic match, Styles hoisted his opponent upon his shoulders for an Argentine Backbreaker, then transitioned into a Spinning Powerbomb before covering Cena, who managed to kick out at two.

The two competitors would trade punishing maneuvers as Cena leveled his opponent with an Attitude Adjustment. After kicking out at a heart-stopping two-count, Styles would soon take to the air, raining down on Cena with a Phenomenal Elbow.

After trading a ferocious series of blows, The Champ, perhaps in an homage to the man whose record he was chasing, snapped on Flair’s signature Figure-Four Leglock, but Styles powered out and countered with a cross armbreaker.

As the chants from the WWE Universe grew louder, The Phenomenal One flattened Cena with the Styles Clash. Unbelievably, it would not be enough. Cena would fight back, even climbing to the second rope before heaving Styles onto the canvas with an Attitude Adjustment. Styles would, somehow, some way, kick out at two and later pummel Cena with a second Styles Clash.

The Cenation Leader refused to let the record slip between his fingers, though. Instead, he pushed The Phenomenal One over the edge with, not one, but two more Attitude Adjustments. This time, there was nowhere to go for Styles, who had finally failed to escape the match-ending pin.

The emotion of his milestone was nearly overwhelming for Cena as the crowd showered The Champ with reverential applause, and soaked up a moment that will forever live in WWE history.
